Description
The Backplane (BP) Embedded Server Management (ESM) flash utility is a

Fixes & Enhancements
- Prevent occasionally backplane not responding to I2C commands if the
backplane was reset (SCSI reset) during an I2C transmission.
- Enable BP GEM controller to reset on SCSI reset.
- Prevent LM75 lockup if communication should fail.
Installation Instructions
Default Instructions for PV775N-ESMA02.exe:
1. Download the utility to a directory on your hard drive. The file
downloaded is a self-extracting executable.
2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.
3. After the files have been unpacked, you may delete the self-extracting
file downloaded in step 1.

HOW TO START
MS-DOS Version
1. Change to the directory where the utility program files are saved.
2. At the MS-DOS prompt, type "SMFLSH4" (no quotation marks) followed by
the options and press Enter.
Windows NT/2000 Version
This version of the utility, "SMFLSH4NT.EXE", can be run from an MS-DOS
window under Windows NT/2000 ONLY if DELL HardWare Instrumentation
Package or DELL Open Manage Server Agent is INSTALLED and RUNNING on the
system. To run "SMFLSH4NT.EXE", do the following at an MS-DOS window:
1. Change to the directory where the utility program files are saved.
2. Run the "SMFLSH4NT" utility followed by the applicable options.
