Fixes & Enhancements
Fixes: Firmware version v100 fixes issues with failing backups in NetBackup 6.5, as well as issues with continual cleaning requests that were previously resolved by downgrading to version 5252 of firmware.
This firmware adds a new behavior when dealing with media issues which will enable users to identify media that can cause failures.
Media which causes a dropped leader. In the event the drive loads a tape media that has physical issues which cause a dropped leader, the media is ejected from the drive, an exclamation point is displayed on the LCD, and both the media attention (amber) and error (red) LEDs are illuminated.
Media which doesn't thread properly but doesn't cause dropped leader. In the event the drive loads a tape media that doesn't buckle properly to the tape drive, the media is ejected from the drive, and exclamation point is displayed on the LCD, and only the Media attention (amber) LED is illuminated.
Dell Technologies recommends applying this update during your next scheduled update cycle. The update contains changes to maintain overall system health. It ensures that the system software remains current and compatible with other system modules (firmware, BIOS, drivers, and software) and may include other new features.
