Dell Technologies recommends applying this update during your next scheduled update cycle. The update contains changes to maintain overall system health. It ensures that the system software remains current and compatible with other system modules (firmware, BIOS, drivers, and software) and may include other new features.
1.Click Download Now, to download the file.
2.When the File Download window appears, click Save this program to disk and click OK. The Save In: window appears.
3.From the Save In: field, click the down arrow then click to select Desktop and click Save. The file will download to your desktop.
4.If the Download Complete window appears, click Close. The file icon appears on your desktop.
Install (Windows XP and Vista Users)
1.Double-click the new icon on the desktop labeled R215719.ZIP.
2.The Self-Extracting window appears and prompts you to extract to C:\DELL\DRIVERS\R215719.
3.Click OK.
4.After completing the file extraction, if the Self-Extractor window is still open, close it.
5.The Windows Flash utility, DriveUpdater, for the HLDS GA10N drive will automatically launch.
6.If a "Can't find the target drive" message pops up, then the system is not detecting the HLDS GA10N drive. Check to make sure the HLDS GA10N drive is properly installed.
7.Click on the "UPDATE" button to start the update process.
8.Wait for the flash process to complete.
9.A reboot is advisable at this point. Pls save all data and restart the system.
Install (DOS Users)
1.Double-click the new icon on the desktop labeled R215719.ZIP.
2.The Self-Extracting window appears and prompts you to extract or unzip to C:\DELL\DRIVERS\R215719. Write down this path so the executable (i.e. Setup.exe) file can be found later.
3.The Self-Extractor window appears.
4.Click OK.
5.After completing the file extraction, if the Self-Extractor window is still open, close it.
6.The Windows Flash utility, DriveUpdater, for the HLDS GA10N drive will automatically launch. Close the DriveUpdater. On other OSes, the DriveUpdater utility may fail to launch.
3.After completing the file extraction, navigate to the location of the extracted files.
8.Copy the all five files in the DOS directory to a bootable DOS floppy or flash disk.
9.Boot to DOS
10.Navigate to the location where "sflashup.exe" is located on the DOS floppy or Flash disk.
11.Enter "sflashup.exe 7009D00A.DLD" at the DOS prompt.
12.Follow the instructions to complete the flash process and reboot after flash process is complete.
