Download the File to your Desktop
This file BR112425.exe contains the DOS version of the BIOS flash utility. BR112425.exe contains a Windows environment program which can be used to create a bootable Floppy Disk containing the DOS BIOS flash.
1. Click Download now.
The Export Compliance Agreement appears.
2. Read the Export Compliance Agreement.
3. If you agree, click to select I agree.
The File Download window appears.
4. Click the Save button.
The Save As window appears.
5. Select Desktop using the drop-down menu to the right of Save in.
6. Click the Save button.
A progress meter moves as the download is completed.
If necessary, click X in the upper right-hand corner of the Download Progress Window to close it upon completion.
Run the BR112425.exe file from the Windows Desktop
1. Attach a USB floppy drive to the notebook.
2. Double click the Icon on your desktop labeled BR112425.exe.
The Dell Floppy BIOS Image creation window appears
3. Click the Continue button.
The Dell Floppy BIOS Image creation utility is copying a bootable image to your diskette.
4. Click the Finish button.
5. Shutdown your computer.
6. Reboot your computer ensuring the newly created floppy disk is inserted in your floppy drive.
Your computer will boot from the floppy diskette and flash the BIOS.
After it has completed, remove the floppy diskette and restart your computer.
Important Information
- The Floppy Format is recommended for most users. Floppy format creates a bootable self-extracting disk.
- The Non-packaged Format is intended for advanced users that only require the bootable disk.
Installation Instructions
Floppy Format
Creating the disk:
This procedure requires one blank, formatted 3.5-inch floppy disk. Label the disk BIOS.
- Click Download now from the Download and install section, to begin.
The File Download window appears. - Click Save this program to disk.
- In the Save in: section, click the down arrow and click to select Desktop as the location then click Save.
- When the file download is complete, click Close button.
Close all open windows. - Double-click the down loaded file 300m_A09.exe on your Desktop.
If the Security Warning window appears, click Yes. - Click the Setup button.
A black MS-DOS window appears. - Press the <Enter> key.
- Insert a formatted floppy disk in the floppy disk drive and press the <Enter> key.
- Press the <Y> key to begin copying files.
The message End of the disk set appears. - Press the <Enter> key.
- Click the Start button,
- Click the Run button.
- Type a: in
the Open box and click OK.
A list of files on the floppy disk appears. - Close all open windows and leave the disk in the floppy drive.

If you are creating this disk on another computer, remove the disk. Then insert it into the system that needs the BIOS flashed, and resume the procedure.
