Removing the Status-Light Board

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove:
    1. SD card
    2. battery
    3. base cover
    4. keyboard trim
    5. keyboard
    6. memory
    7. optical drive
    8. hard drive
    9. hard-drive cage
    10. WLAN card
    11. display hinge
    12. palmrest
    13. system fan
    14. ExpressCard cage
    15. system board
    16. speakers
  3. Perform the following steps:
    1. Remove the screw that secures the LED cover.
    2. Un-route the status-light board cable from its channels.Figure displaying the removal of screw that secures the LED cover.
    3. Remove the screw that secures the status-light board and lift to remove the status-light board from the computer. Figure displaying how to remove the status-light board from the computer.
