Removing the Input/Output (I/O) Board

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove:
    1. SD memory card
    2. ExpressCard
    3. battery
    4. access panel
    5. keyboard trim
    6. keyboard
    7. optical drive
    8. hard drive
    9. WLAN card
    10. right base panel
    11. thermal module
    12. palmrest
    13. ExpressCard reader cage
    14. display assembly
    15. right support frame
    16. left support frame
    17. system board
  3. Remove the screws that secure the Input/Output (I/O) board in the computer.
  4. Lift the Input/Output (IO) board out of the computer.
