Removing the Palmrest

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove:
    1. SD card
    2. battery
    3. base cover
    4. keyboard trim
    5. keyboard
    6. memory
    7. optical drive
    8. hard drive
    9. display hinge
  3. Remove the screws at the bottom of the computer.

  4. Disconnect:
    1. media-buttons cable
    2. touch-pad cable
    3. fingerprint-scanner cable
    4. power-button cable

  5. Perform the following steps:
    1. Remove the screws that secure the palmrest of the computer.
    2. Lift and remove the palmrest from the computer
