OMSA (OpenManage Server Administrator Managed Node) start

Dear All,

OMSA (OpenManage Server Administrator Managed Node) v 9.5.0.1 freshly installed on R330 with Windows Server 2016 with latest updates (Patchday June 08, 2021).

When I lauch the tool from Windows menu, it asks me for user credentials (name and password). After that all I get is the browser message "Diese Seite funktioniert im Moment nicht." (This page is currently nor working).

I would be grateful for suggestions. Thanks.

Steffen

Dear Marco,

thanks for your efforts. Fortunately I found my own solution - which is actually quite easy:

A. TOPOLOGY

. Windows server essentials 2016 connected to switch.
. No domain, using workgroup instead
. All clients connect to LAN via WiFi modules.

B. INSTALLATION

. Installed or OMSA with the default settings. No error messages or similar during the process.

C. OMSA LAUNCH and useage

. launch OMSA from start-menu: browser opens with a grey window asking for login credentials (username and password). This is the standard window opening if you request network login e.g. on a client network drive. However, there is also a line at the bottom of the window posting a domain name. Now, I am not using domain, simply the workgroup.
. thus, click "cancel".
. black DELL login screen appears asking for login credentials (username and password).
. enter your choices.

D. PROBLEM SOLVED!

. runs as expected

Hello,

at first can you check this article, about how to troubleshoot?

https://dell.to/3wwfWOK

Make sure that all of the OMSA services are running

They should all start with DSM in the services list. the URL should be something like this:

https://localhost:1311/

Which credentials are you using?

Thanks
Marco
