Area-51 R2, replace mainboard

I want to buy an secondhand Alienware Area 51 R2
But as far as I know, its mainboard is X99 and manufactured specifically for Alienware Area 51
I wonder if my mainboard is broken, can I replace it with another company's motherboard such as Asus or MSI?
If it can be changed, does it have any effect and do I need to replace any hardware or tuning equipment
