Aurora R13, getting XMP memory?
it's been a point of discussion before and support confirmed no XMP support! But then they announced on Twitter that there would be XMP support for Kingston Fury. So they actually can support XMP?

But the date and times have past.... therefore you would have to think they would be just moving onto R15 production... Alienware have had this behaviour for the last 5-6 years.

It would have to be more than just a memory upgrade package, since XMP memory cannot run at anything higher than 4,400 Mhz at this moment.
Would also need a BIOS update and I personally doubt the motherboard can support > 4,400 Mhz. I don't see it happen. Maybe they were talking about new memory being released with XMP profiles but still running at 4,400 Mhz...

And it would be absolutely pointless to offer RAM with XMP profiles for the R13 without XMP support in the BIOS/MOBO.

Yes it would.

The common sense approach to save trust and face should be:
1. enable 4800mhz XMP for those with 4800mhz capable DDR5
2. Provide a discounted upgrade path or trade-in program for existing R13 owners to the Fury DDR5 XMP
3. Compensation or full refund.
Either way, if existing R13 and new R13 users do not get XMP, then its all false advertising. A classic example of this was In 2021 - Ford Australia provided compensation to owners of Ford Everest Basecamp version of the vehicle with undercooked weight limits of the included roof rack. These owners also had the option to return the vehicle for a full refund. Dell should seriously consider similar measures (refund, replacement or upgrade path to Fury DDR5) if XMP isnt provided for on the R13.

Maybe they enable XMP 4,400 Mhz. Who knows what they are going to do. Wish they would just provide a clear response and be done with it.

Yep. The R13 is my last also. Had too many, and all of them had stupid problems

Given the silence from the Alienware team thus far, and no product shown on the accessory RAM page at Dell support, it sure seems as though someone spoke out of school during that interview on the release of XMP RAM (and, by implication, XMP support) for the Aurora R13. Pending any sort of further news on the topic, I'll just write this off as another ill-advised statement about another non-existent product.

Dell.com allows selecting in customization ram option of: 32gb 2x16 gb ddr5 4800 MHz XMP or 32gb 2x16 gb ddr5 4000 MHz, so perhaps xmp is in the works afterall. Speaking to Kingston tech support they have been working with Dell on XMP; though will be proprietary OE ram.

My R13 came with 32Gb DDR5 4800mhz, but clocked at 4400mhz to appease Intel specs... Don't hold your breath on XMP. I highly doubt it will ever come - and if it does, expect it in the R15

Looks like they added the option for 4800 ram on the product page https://www.dell.com/en-ca/shop/gaming-and-games/alienware-aurora-r13-gaming-desktop/spd/alienware-aurora-r13-desktop/daar13_h20e?configurationid=3449dc02-531d-4b4e-8a93-75c0242aff65 doubt they would tell people they are getting 4800 ram and not deliver on it... they'd get themselves in a heap of headaches...

Somebody else tried something similar, and it boots up at 4,400 Mhz but with the XMP timings.
So unless this is a new board revision, or an unreleased BIOS, I don't see how it would boot at 4,800 Mhz...
Kingston Fury Beast 5,200 Mhz.

My bet is on b.) unreleased BIOS
My limited understanding of the Intel Alder Lake CPU matters the resulted in the more conservative supported RAM speeds did not seem to related to motherboard architecture.
