Aurora-R7, 8700k OC frequency not fixed

Hi,

I overclocked my 8700k CPU to 4.6 Ghz using the first profil given. I've noticed however that the OC frequency isn't fix at 4.6 Ghz and goes down to 4.3 Ghz often. I've tried the 2nd profile to 4.8 Ghz and even a costum one at 5 Ghz, same. frequency aren't fix at all. Am I doing thing wrong ? somebody can help me on this please?

thanks,

Hi,

The CPU runs at the speed required for the task being done at the time. It will not always run at 4.6 Ghz unless it needs to. You can run a CPU stress test with the support assist tool to confirm the maximum speed. Are you experiencing any performance issues?

Hi Rodrigo,

I find where this issue comes from, it's related to the AVX Ratio Offset which automatically set to 3x.

this setting is available in the intel XTU tool so i can set in to 0X. However, everytime i turn on the pc this setting seems reset to 3X.

I think Aurora constumers need an urgent bios update for this.

Also, the OC utility that came with the Aurora R7 is... pretty basic compared with the XTU.
