Aurora-R7, CPU pump failure, running abnormally slow
Bought an Alienware Aurora R7 a few months ago, started having issues about a month and a few weeks after the purchase.
Issues: Everything running abnormally slow, I get high FPS in games, however the loading times and download speeds are EXTREMELY slow. Huge lag spikes with every program too, from Google Chrome to Minecraft to PUBG. (Sometimes high process games such as PUBG crash my PC when I attempt to load into games). CPU pump is failing, and Alienware command center freezes when I try to open it / most of the time I am unable to open it.
TO fix the issue, I've tried:
-Uninstalling and reinstalling alien ware command center
-Manual troubleshoot and Alienware system scan (passed)
- "START" and "e PSA" scan or whatever you call them (passed)
-Clearing PC cache, uninstalling unwanted files/programs, checked for viruses (none found)
Basic PC specs:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8700k CPU @ 3.70GHz 3.70GHz
16.0 GB (15.8 GB usable)
64bit operating system, x64-based processor
Wifi-ed internet - did a test on speedtest.com, download speed 27.95 Mbps, upload speed 3.64 Mbps (I don't know if that's good or bad, nevertheless my pc still uploads and downloads slowly)
Alienware monitor and keyboard, razor mouse, Hyper X headset
PS: Not a tech nerd, first time buying a prebuilt desktop from Dell, my dad set up my PC for me.

1. Hmm. Maybe you didn't get a SSD. That can make a big difference.
2. Not sure how you came to this conclusion, but this hardware-problem will have to be corrected first. Give Dell a call and they will get you fixed-up. If your main-processor isn't being cooled properly, you will have all sorts or weird troubles and system instability.
3. That's a good start, but it's not all-telling. ePSA shows you the (constant) pump speed and the (often variable) radiator-fan speed.
4. Yeah, that's pretty slow modern broadband, even for WiFi . Maybe someone was watching a movie while you tested? Try a real wire.
5. Nice, but you left out some other important specs on your machine.
6. You don't have to be a "tech nerd" but it would help if someone there knew a little about how computers and networks work. Maybe your dad can help you?

Thank you very much for the reply!
Alienware command center works like this: I have to spend at least 5 minutes each time I click the button for it to load up, freeze, and buffer before I can actually do something. It did say somewhere that "CPU PUMP: FAILED".
I asked my dad about this and we are planning on contacting dell and together to get it fixed.
When I did the download/upload speed test, nobody was watching any movie but another computer was on, I checked if anyone was. Does another computer running make a big difference? It's a good PC but not fit for gaming.
If I were to mention any more specs and give you more information, would you be able to come to a conclusion on the issue?

I was just wondering what video-card and drives you got because you said it was slow.
Conclusion of issues? No, I doubt it.
We usually just provide advice here ... you still need to do the work.

I suggest you start your own thread since nothing conclusive was talked about here.
