Aurora R7--upgrade SSD?

Hi folks--

I have a new R7.  It seems to have an empty 2TB HDD, and the system drive is a 256GB SSD.  I want to add a 500GB SSD.

Is there somewhere I can put the extra 500GB SSD?  It seems there is only room for two drives, and I don't really want to replace the 2TB HDD.  I was hoping there would be an empty SSD slot or that it would be easier to swap an SSD into the big 2TB slot (obviously that's not easy).

Does this mean my only choice is to replace the 256GB drive?  This is the system drive, so that adds a wrinkle.  If I replace the system drive with a 500GB drive, will the BIOS pop up and reinstall the factory image from a chip somewhere?  Or will I have no boot device at all if I replace the 256GB system drive?  If that's the case, can I either temporarily make the 2TB drive the system drive, or create an image there that the BIOS can put onto the 500GB drive when I take the 256GB drive out?

Thanks!

Keep the 256gb (M.2 form-factor) PCIe-NVMe SSD as Windows boot. You can also install your main programs there.

Keep the 3.5inch 2tb spinning HDD for large media and data files. You can also install large games here if you want.

If you want another SSD, get a common 2.5inch form-factor one (with common SATA-3/600 interface), and install it in one of the open bays along the bottom floor of the Aurora-R7.

You might want to grab the Aurora-R7 Owners/Service manual PDF-file.

So purchasing something like this  should work fine in the lower bays correct? I have seen a lot of contradicting information on this so just clarifying.

I have one of those an tried to install it in the lower bay however there was less cabling available than the older r3 it came out of (purchase separate and installed). I am assuming there is additional cabling I would need to grab and add? I was able to place it in the HDD 1 bay, as my primary is 1TB M.2 PCIe SSD, assuming because that smaller cable was there? I do intend to add more SSDs if I am able to as I mainly use this as a network/development environment computer.

Thanks for the assistance.

Yes. That would be a 2.5inch SATA-SSD in a 2.5inch drive-bay.

You should probably grab the Aurora-R7 Service Manual PDF.

2.5 Drives work in 3.5 bays with an adapter.

This one is a universal favorite and works every time. Silver Stone SDP09

The other place to fit one is the drive slots.  SYBA SY-MRA25023

The 2.5inch SATA SSD should work, but you do NOT need the size-adapter tray.

No idea about the ram.

You should probably download the Aurora-R7 PDF manuals while you wait. I suggest you don't buy anything else until you get the machine.

I got ripped on the memory too. But I put a 3 TB HD in the slot and a 400GB SSD in 1 of the 2 2.5 slots and a SSD

4TB 5600 GB2.5 in the other 2.5 slot plus what they put in it. I have all 4 SD RAM. Tech support told me I could do that and they will help me set it up.I have the Alienware Aruroa R7
