RTX 3080 not available through Dell anymore

After huge issues with my brand new Alienware Aurora R11 crashing and blue screening and hours on the phone with tech. They finally offered to send a new GPU card. So I get the order status and it says ordered delayed. I call order support and he says that the RTX 3080 is not available anymore. Also take note you cannot buy a Alienware R11 with RTX 3080 off Dell's web site anymore either except with AMD processor. Everyone thats been having trouble with their new computers with the RTX 3080 may just be out of luck. Other brands or RTX 3080 will not fit in the r11 case.

The ready to ship Alienware Auroras on Dell's site are on the Dell outlet store. Otherwise, using the config page linked above, Dell will build it after you order it.  You can select the 3080 or 3090 as an option during config, or several other options, in the above link. And they will build it that way.  A week or so back the 3090 option was not showing on Dell's US Website as a clickable config option but it is back up now.

3080 is two boxes to the left. $784 cheaper.  You can select either box and go to checkout, worked for me.

It's possible that the RTX 3.0 cards are delayed due to overall worldwide low availability.

It's very difficult to get one of those right now, unless you want to pay significantly over MSRP.

I am just guessing here, but Dell might not sell them individually for the time being due to low stock.

They should send you one to replace yours, under warranty. But maybe stock is so low they are holding off on that.

Only they can tell you...

RTX 3000 cards are still a supply/demand problem for all manufacturers.

If you can get a Aurora configured with one, I would expect it to be in the high end configurations due to availability, afterall it makes business sense to sell a complete product to respond to a larger consumer market.

Just because it is available on the site unfortunately does not guarantee delivery date. It is sad times, I blame a lot on NVIDIA, prices have also inflated with unofficial resellers, fortunately Dell are being respectful with their prices, this however comes with some waiting and sometimes frustration when it does not work out of the box. Sad times really.

Nevertheless I do have my 3080, aftermarket of course from an official reseller, I waited 1 month to click-buy it and 1 month to receive it. I got frustrated as none were ever available after my working day or at the weekend. I was only able to click when I was teleworking in the middle of one afternoon when all the techno kiddies were at school

Patience is the most important thing to have right now in this very upside-down world of GPUs.

Are you in the US or elsewhere?  The Dell US website allows you to checkout with the 3080.  I realize that it wasn't available at one point about 3 weeks ago, but it has been in stock since then.  You might try asking them to double check and point to the website link that it is available now.  Alternatively, if an option, you might try asking for a replacement system and sending this one back.

Dell US lets you check out with the R11 and 3080 as of 2/19/21:
