17r3 battery issue
My battery life has gone from great to garbage. I used to get 6-8 hours now I get ~3 the machine is only a few months old. This is a major issue as I live off the grid and don't always have electricity. There is way more heat coming off it as well, i've disabled the Gtx 980 video card for troubleshooting but it didn't seem to help. Nothings changed except possibly a windows update... any thoughts? I'll try to get some juice tomorrow and troubleshoot it some more.

Hi,
Are you running the latest Bios version? Try doing a power drain.

Because you leave expresscharge on. I put it on regular for a reason.

Can I pull the battery from removing the one panel underneath? or is there more to it?

i noticed this too. Thanks Ant.
hopefully this would help. why would alienware by default activate a feature that will potentially shorten the lifespan of the battery?
