256GB SOLID STATE DRIVE

Hi, I have tried to update the firmware for this drive (original with computer) and it comes up:

"NON SYSTEM DISC". Anyhow, I don't know what happened next, but when I start computer this comes up and I have to "PRESS ANY KEY" to start computer.

How can I get rid of this so that the laptop starts normally, as it will not start unless I "press any key". Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the system thinks it's a removable media drive. That's how the system responds when it detects and tries to boot an optical disc.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, but this is the original 'C' drive that came with the laptop.

SAMSUNG PM810 2.5" 256GB SOLID STATE HARD DRIVE, maybe I used the wrong term, "format".

I tried to upgrade it as recommended and this is the result.  thanks.

I do not see an SSD update on the M17x-R3 Dell File Library? Provide a link to the firmware you downloaded.

Thanks. I don't know where I received it from but it is called "MX35DEM4" THEN, MX000050

I will understand if you can't find it as I tried to copy and paste, but couldn't.

Anyway thanks for assistance. Cheers, Ian

By the way, I'm impressed with product.

Ok. Now I am really confused. The file mx35dem4 (http://tiny.cc/syh3fw) was for the Seagate ST95005620AS 500GB 7200rpm hard disk drive. But your saying you have the Samsung PM810 SSD-S2 drive installed?

Anyhow the laptop has gone back to normal, so it's ALL GOOD!. Cheers, Ian
