A12 BIOS for M18X R2

Hi,

I read on another forum that the A12 BIOS has been released by Dell for the M18x R2.  I have been to drivers and downloads but can't find any trace of an A12 Bios only A11.

Has the A12 BIOS for the M18x R2 been released and if so when will it appear in the drivers and downloads?

Hi heywheelie,

I’d be glad to assist you regarding the same, the BIOS version available for your computer is A11 which was released on 7/24/2013 and this is the only version tested with your system model so far.
In order to get the latest version update you might have to keep checking the Dell’s Support website or check the My Dell application installed on your computer.

Let us know if this helps.

Hi heywheelie,

I found bios A12 for M18xR2 whilst updating my bios yesterday.

I already have the A12 BIOS file from the Dell website.  I got the link from another forum.  I just wanted to know why the A12 BIOS was available from the Dell website but not officially listed under the Drivers and Downloads.

Is the A12 official or is it A test or beta BIOS?

Hello, from what I can tell the M18xR2 A12 system BIOS is for windows 8.1.

Under "supported operating systems" on the link provided above theres three O/S's. Win 7, Win 8 and WB64A.

If you read the description on the left, all the drivers with "WB64A" say they are for Win 8.1

I'd hazard a guess that WB stands for Windows Beta, 64 is for 64Bit and A is for "A test" as mentioned by heywheelie.

Might be a good idea to wait a little longer before trying it out, as Chris M said, "don't update your BIOS just because you can, do it when you have a problem" or something close to that effect.
