AlienFX headache

Hi,

My new M17x R2 will not shut down completely because of AlienFX. The only way to shut it down is to power off or go into dark mode.
What happens is that it goes through the normal shut down procedure closing all programs but ends in a black screen (turned off) and all AlienFX lighting still on with fans running loudly.

I should add that AlienFX claims to be updating its profile but that never seems to end because after waiting about 20 mins I get rather fedup and power off. After rebooting the problem is no longer present ...until I change the AlienFX profile again.

How long should AlienFX take to update its profile? I feel sure this is not normal.
