Alienware 17 stuck in startup repair

iI was stuck in a repair loop, but I got out of it by pressing F8.

I'm still stuck on startup.

After pressing F8, the screen gave me four options to choose from:

"Press Esc for recovery"

"Press Enter to try again"

"Press F8 for Startup Settings"

and

"Press F9 to use a different operating system"

I've tried the first three options, but they've proven to be helpless,

I pressed F9, causing the laptop to restart, but it only led me to a solid black screen.

Run an extended hardware diagnostic on the hard drive - F12 at powerup to get into the Dell diagnostics.

If you cannot get Windows to load, you will need your factory restore media -- if you did not make that when you received the system, contact Dell to have it sent (under warranty) or purchase it (if you're out of warranty, it's not free of charge).

Boot the system from the recovery media and do a full factory restore.

I've tried that, but it still leads to the screen where I'm given the same four options after I've passed the tests.

What do I do after I've gotten it?
