Alienware 17 (the one that costs 2048$) comes with an Amd Radeon, but is it possible that i can get a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 880M graphics with 8GB total GDDR5 on it?

Since the video card isn't configurable you'd need the higher-line model to get the nVidia card.

Even if you could find the card separately,it's pretty close to the best you can get these days - and notebook cards at the cutting edge can easily cost $1,000-1,500 just by themselves, so you probably wouldn't save anything in the process.

though i still have one question, was there ever a time where you could have the Nvidia instead of the Amd? I'm asking this because my brother got an Alienware 17, not from amazon or elsewhere, from the official website, and he says the original price was 2100 $, and he was sure of it.
