Alienware 18 and vt-d/x

I have an Alienware 18 with a i7-4910MQ, according to the Intel spec for this chip, it supports VT-x and VT-d.  In the bios there is an option to enable virtualization.

It doesn't matter if I enable it or disable, I can't get the processor to report that it supports it.  I've tried various utilities (CPU-Z, etc.) as well as VirtualBox and non say that VT-x or VT-d is supported.

This was supposed to be a desktop replacement, as I've had other Alienware laptops in the past including an MX processor version of this same laptop, and all worked as they should.

I guess Dell never tested the virtualization options?  Bug in the BIOS perhaps?

If there is no way of enabling virtualization even though it should support it?  Can anyone at Dell confirm and offer a fix/solution.

Thanks.
