Alienware Aurora R3 Overclocking

Hey guys!

Just got my R3 and I'm trying to overclock the CPU. When I go into the BIOS and try to pick the overclock settings I save the changes but when I reboot I noticed my CPU is still at 3.4 GHZ instead of 3.9. Any ideas?

Thanks!

get cpu-z and prime95, when you run prime95 you will see the speed reported by cpu-z go up. The turbo mode only kicks in if the cpu has something to do. Computer properties will always show the speed from the CPU info, not the current speed.

Anyone have any ideas? I was thinking maybe a BIOS update? Other then that the only thing I can think of is to contact support, which may be the best option I guess. Thanks in advance! :)

Ah, I didn't realize that turbo mode did that as well. Thanks for the info Stephy! I will try that tonight when I get home. So far everything has been really great running on it. I was thinking later of posting a mini-review to be followed up with a full review once I've had it for a little bit.
