Alienware Aurora R4 N Vidia Geforce 780

I would like to upgrade my graphics card and have looked at tutorials on how to replace it.  When i opened my machine, I have a bracket that is attached to the chassis that is not shown on the videos and was obviously fitted at factory.  How can this be removed? Also the power supply to the card is with an 8 and 6 pin plugs. Does anyone know if there are any free 8 pins that i can use to get 2 x 8 pin if needed?

Hi,

Here you have the owner's manual. I'm guessing that you're talking about the PCI Shroud/PCI Retention Duct, if so you will find the information on page 45. If it is something else, anyway you will have all the information here:

downloads.dell.com/.../alienware-aurora-r4_owner's manual_en-us.pdf

And about the pins, you may need an adapter or PSU upgrade to get 2x 8pin connectors. Our smaller PSUs usually have only 1x 8 and 1x 6.
