Alienware Respawn

Am having a strange problem when trying to make System Recovery Media in Respawn. When trying to use a 16 gig thumb drive it shows up in my computer as a "local Drive G" rather than a Removable storage device and Respawn can't see it. I then tried just putting the recovery on DVDs and check the right botton for that and it tells me to put in the blank DVD, which I do. All it does then is  spit out the blank DVDs and does nothing else no matter how many blank DVDs I try. I know the DVDs are good. So am lost on this. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Dell-Rajesh R... Thanks for the info on removing and re-installing the Respawn software. After some digging around I found the Respawn-Basic which is what I needed. Downloaded and installed it and was able to put the Recovery software on a USB drive.

Thanks again.

Thanks for that fast reply... I removed the Respawn in programs and features as you suggested, but ran into a problem when downloading Respawn from the link you provided. It goes through the normal steps then gives me a error "Dell backup and recovery can only be installed on systems running Windows 8"  That's as far as it goes. I am running Windows 7.

Hi Wayne3842,

Try uninstalling and reinstalling Alien Respawn from programs and features.

Install Alien Respawn from the following link:

Check with a different disk and see if the DVD drive spits out the disks.

Dell-Rajesh R... Hope this is not a duplicate as I don't know where the first one I sent went? Thanks for the information on removing and then re-installing Alienware Respawn. After digging around I found the download for Respawn-Basic which is what I needed. Downloaded and installed it with no problems and was able to put the recovery on a USB.

Thanks again

Wayne
