Alienware Steam Machine from Gamestop - No Warrany?
I purchased a Alienware Steam Machine from GameStop US in January 2017. This was a brand new system straight off the shelf and they still sell it through their website.
Upon checking the service tag on Dell’s website; it says that the warranty expired even I purchased this system. According to Dell customer service the system does not have any warranty. Is it true that Dell systems purchased from retailers have no warranty or less than 12 months of warranty (warehouse / time spent on the shelf in the store)?

They usually come with the standard 1 year warranty. If it was purchased without any type of warranty, then that may be the case. We can check the age of the system if you want, send me your Service Tag in a PM so we can look into that.

That's not My experience unless the Item was not new but Used.
You Register the unit and the warranty starts from there.
