Alienware X51 Lights

A few days ago I turned my X51 Alienware computer off.And then the next day when I went to turn it on again the Front logo (the little alien) And the side panels wouldn't up!The side panels are boring and white and the little alien is just black.I went on the support thing and did what it said (Uninstall and re install Alien FX)But it didnt do anything..Any help on this one?Are there batteries that can die or something wrong with my power? My TactX keyboard and TactX mouse lights still work though..

Hi Sucerpunch,

Drain the MB power (Turn off computer, remove AC Adapter and Battery, press and hold the power button down for about 20 seconds - the computer is not expected to turn on, reconnect the AC Adapter and Battery).

Update BIOS to latest version from the following link:

http://dell.to/17XcIVI

  • During BIOS update verify that the computer is connected to an AC Adapter.
  • Disconnect any third party peripherals connected to the computer before performing BIOS update.
  • Do not turn off the computer during the BIOS update.
  • Do not restart the computer during the BIOS update.

Note: Plug your computer to a good, working UPS before you update the BIOS. If you experience a loss of AC power or a significant voltage sag/spike during the BIOS flash, you will either have to buy a new BIOS chip or buy a new motherboard.

Now create a new AlienFX theme:

- Open the AlienFX Editor in Command Center:

- Access the Theme tab in the upper left corner of the AlienFX Editor and choose the New Theme Option to create a new theme:

Save the new theme at the location and name of your preference by selecting the Save Theme option:

- Reinstall the latest Alienware Command Center from the following link:

http://dell.to/ZJLQAL

If needed, create a new AlienFX theme again.

Unfortunately that didnt work..But after trying a few more things not even the side panel lights will turn on.I gotta be honest i pretty much bought this computer because of the lights (I know thats bad) very little for the Power. So having the lights not work is very disappointing.Reinstalling and uninstalling the FX editor many times is really frustrating.I NEED HELP!
