Alienware X51: Need help with setting event light changing
From what I understand, You can change the lights to do different things during different tasks to help with mode identification etc.
I was wondering how I would set the lights on the aliens face to off during ''Sleep''mode and the sides to yellow. Is this possible?
Can someone help me?
Thank you

It only works for Outlook mail as far as I know. Unless they changed it and added more clients to the list.
I may have found a way to make it change the lighting for sleep but it is a little bit of a pain and I do not know if it will work.
You can go here and follow the directions to make a Sleep shortcut to save to your desktop or anywhere you want it.http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/18268/create-a-shortcut-to-put-your-windows-computer-into-hibernation/
Then go back into AlienFX , add event, click browse and point it to the shortcut you made.

Just click the Email tab on the left when in Advanced mode and then set a color scheme . Save and exit. It should use that color when you get emails and/or open the email app.
You can also click the ? on the bottom right for help with Alienware Command Center. If should answer most of your questions.
If you click the ? and expand the tab " What is advanced an mode ? " you will see this:
What is an event?
In advanced mode you can change the lighting behavior of your zones based on
events. An event is any occurrence that generates a response from AlienFX. You
can configure AlienFX to alert you when different events occur by changing the
lighting behavior of these events. The following are the different types of
events that are available depending on the device you select.
Default
The Default event is the main event for AlienFX. The Default event triggers
when you turn on your computer.
Sleep Mode
The Sleep Mode event is available only on certain desktops. The Sleep Mode
event triggers when your system goes into sleep mode. It ends when your system
leaves sleep mode. On some desktop models, the Sleep Mode event contains zones
that are disabled.
On certain desktop models the Sleep Mode event contains zones that will allow
only two Morph actions. You can modify these actions but you cannot remove them.
You cannot add actions to these zones.
New Email
The New Email event triggers when you receive a new email and ends when you
read the email. The New Email event is only compatible with Microsoft
Outlook.
Applications
The Applications event category allows you to add application events to
AlienFX. The application event triggers when you open the application or switch
to it from another application.
What gets me here is the Sleep mode. We know you have it because it will flash the yellow/black when you put it to sleep yet the sleep tab is not listed on yours. It also states that while you can not add to this tab you also can't remove things from this tab but you can modify them. So where is your sleep event tab that you must have since the sleep FX is working on your system.
Maybe on the x51 it's on but you can not modify it? /shrug
Flexible zones
The following are the attributes of flexible zones:
or remove actions.
AlienFX will play these actions in sequence.
looped.
flexible zone.
event) contain flexible zones that are disabled.
