Alienware aurora r4, no operating system and won't boot from cd, Help!
Hi my brother has an alienware aurora r4, it was running on Ubuntu but he wanted windows, somehow he has managed to wipe ubuntu out by typing boot fix into command prompt.. I now have windows vista and windows 7 disks but none seem to be booting from cd, only a support cd seems to boot.. any help will be very much appreciated

To get something to boot from cd, as in have the Cd be read instead of the HDD, you have to change the boot order in the bios. So when you start the computer press or keep pressing f12 until you get to the bios screen. Been awhile since I've done that so I'm not sure where the option is but it should be under Boot at the top of the screen if I remember correctly.
