Alienware x51 Nvidia GTX 660 ti overheat

Guys i have a problem  whit my X51   when i play games like guild wars 2 or metro last light the computer sudenly shut down   but is not fast,  first the graphics card start to run the fans at  higest speed  then screen turns on black   but sistem still runing (i hear the noise of graphics card)  and i  yust can shoot donw  by holding power 30 seconds       i yhink is a overheat problem im using the latest nvidia driver  and i have install the bios A04     does i need install bios A14??  what i can do?

do you have the reference designed card ? dose it look like this http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-660ti/product-images  or is the fan a regular one if its not close to this one then you have the wrong design for your case.

Huh strange that looks like a standard card that should not be in there all x51  should have a reference designed coolers i would call dell and ask them to make sure the wrong design did not get in there, because it sounds like a overheat issue. See if you dont have a reference designed card inside the x51 it will just blow the heat into the case causing overheat issues.
