Area 51 R2 - Question / Issue
Hello,
I'm just getting my Area 51 R2 out of the box and the tabs don't seem to be open doors? Is there any additional screws or buttons? I'm afraid if I force the latches on either side I may break them.
WIth that being said I have an SSD on the side that i'd like to put in this system, does it have a cady and screws and cables necessary so I can plug and play? Also, the Alien repawn factory disks, is this sufficient to reinstall everything onto my SSD or should I request factory reinstallation disks from alienware?

There is a small screw at the bottom of a switch at the top in between the door tabs. Remove the screw and this will unlock the door latches.
As for your SSD you will need the small screws to mount the ssd into the ssd fixture. I bought a 3.5 to 2.5 adapter cage from amazon and mounted my ssd into the larger 3.5 fixtures in the area 51 R2.
You can create a backup with alienspawn or request the factory image for your system I did both.
