Boot up Issue

When I boot my Alienware 17R2 computer, if the screen is past the straight up position (90 degrees to the keyboard) the computer starts beeping and will not boot. If I shut it down and reboot with the screen tilted back toward the keyboard (less than 90 degrees), it boots fine. I can then tilt the screen further back and all works OK.  Any ideas what is happening?

Hello,

When it starts beeping, does it make 8 beeps and then a pause?

I haven't counted the beeps but that sounds about right.  It definitely does pause and then restart.

Hi,

It sounds like a problem with the screen, possibly one of the cables is loose. If your system is in warranty, send me your Service Tag in a PM for hardware assistance.
