Can't boot from USB/DVD Alienware x51?
I've already changed the boot order, and I've heard that you have to change the Boot Mode from UEFI to Legacy.
My question is, if I change the boot mode to Legacy, will that erase my operating system, or cause any damage, or just make my PC not boot.
I'm just wondering if I can change it to Legacy and not have to buy a new hard drive, and reinstall the OS.

Could I ask what is it exactly what you are trying to do or fix?
It is an OS reinstall?

Have you tried the same CD on another PC?

And have you test the optical drive with in windows just to make sure is working fine? Are you able to boot from the windows CD?
