Can the Alienware Aurora R4 SLI 2 GTX 580's?
On the Aurora R4 pages it says:
"Stunning graphics for your games: Achieve game-winning perofrmance from your graphics - the Aurora can support dual graphics cards up to 2GB GDDR5 AMD Radeon HD 6950"
But can the Alienware Aurora R4 support SLI with 2 GTX 580's?

The 875w PSU Aurora can run two gtx 580s. I know a few people running that setup right now.

Can you let me know how you get on with your dual 7970's? I'm thinking of getting dual 7970's if 2 GTX 580's won't work.
Can the 7970's play all PC games? (the top ones anyways) Would there be problems with driver support?

Why do you suppose Dell took the 580's off of the options when ordering new R4 systems? Also I think I read somewhere on another Dell forum that Dell insists users use a Dell custom 'bridge' for SLI.

Hey cork also theres some dude that commented on a page I started. Think title is something like "Alienware aurora r4 875w psu" and he installed some 1200w psu. He also installed two gtx 590s but he said they ran hot. Think he said he was going to add a water block. I'm a noob so I don't know how to do all that but if you google my topic you should be able to find it. He also writes the name of the psu that fits and works.

I hope your set up works for you.
I ordered my R4 on the 9th of January, it was supposed to arrive on the 10th but arrive 8 days earlier on the 2nd :)
Hope the same happens with you man,

Hey i think there are no more 580s because there so back ordered. I was going to get dual 6950s on my r4, but I waited a week and you can't get them anymore because of back order.
@ cork hey man I was going to buy two 7970s, but when I was going to buy i couldn't find the model I want. Gigabyte 7970 wind force 3. They run 15-20% cooler. I figured they would be nice since cards are stacked. Instead I brought two 7950s from newegg.com and I've already received them. Just waiting on aurora r4 to ship. Supposed to get her on 23rd. Man I hope no delays.

If it gets pushed back I might think of cancelling my order and waiting for ivy bridge and new Alienware system. Do you think there will be r5 or just something new? If so when do you expect it to be released.

I ordered a GTX580 with the Aurora R4, and have stayed with that so far. Nothing extra.

If I was going nVidia on an Aurora, I think that's what I would do also ... a single 580.
