Cannot use AlienFX on Alienware Command Center

I recently purchased an Alienware M17. It was second-hand, and so it was restored to factory settings.

When looking for Command Center to change my keyboard colour, I could not find it. I downloaded several, but they all appear to give me the same error message when wanting a tutorial on how to use AlienFX.

Here is a link to a picture of the error on my screen;

I hope someone can help. I'm getting rather frustrated.

Hi AaronBell,

I would advise you to reinstall the Command Center 3.0 for Notebooks from here and check for issue resolution.

Also, I was not able view the error message from the link you have provided. Please try attaching the picture by using ‘Use rich formatting’ while you reply.

Hi AaronBell,

What is the revision of your system (r1, r2, r3 or r4)?

If you are going to re install the command center, you should do it following the steps in this article.

Natalia,

Shouldn't Step #17 come BEFORE Step #16? Step #17 appears to be cleaning the Registry of left-over entries before clean-install.

I've asked before and never got an answer. Please explain.

Hi Tesla :)

Yes, you are correct, cleaning the registry should of course be done before installing the new version, I just sent a request to have that changed.

Hello Natalia,

It is an R1 system.

How did the re installation go?

Run windows updates, and make sure you update the .NET framework.
