Crossfire - Screen Tearing

Hi,

I have an Aurora ALX with dual ATI 5870 in crossfire.

In some games, I have screen tearing issues.  It is mostly noticeable (if not only) in cinematics (Resident Evil 5, Batman Arkham Asylum, Half-Life 2 Episode 2).  I enabled VSync but that didn't change anything.  In-game rendering is fine though - with VSync enabled no tearing (at least none that I can notice).

I have Catalyst AI enabled and set to Standard and I have OpenGL triple buffer enabled too.

Anyone has similar issue? Is that a driver issue? I'm running with drivers 9.12 hotfixed.

Thanks!

Niklai,

Screen tearing on the 5870 is a known issue. It show up mostly on systems with dual monitors. The screen tear is a result of the card dropping speed\power to save power. You can google steps on how to disable this power saving feature, so that this will go away temporary. ATI needs to fix this issue via firmware or driver update.

Hope this info helps.

Joe

Thanks Joe, that definitely answer my question.  I guess I'll wait for ATI to propose a solution.
