Does Alienware M14x 512GB SSD supports TRIM?

I see that you are planning to buy an Alienware M14x and you wanted to know if the 512GB SSD have TRIM support. I am sorry to say that has of now the hard drives getting shipped are not having the Trim support. In future it may come in. Please reply in case you have any questions.

Hi Ravi Chandra, thanks for the quick reply. I'm finding it Ironic that Dell does not make its SSD support TRIM. Doesn't that render the SSD totally useless? As in, it won't be any faster than a HDD...

It doesn't render the SSD useless, without TRIM support however, the performance would degrade over time.

Good news is, the M14x R2, M17x R4 and M18x R2 all ship with SSDs that support TRIM, so you won't have any trouble.
