Graphics card upgrade- Area 51r2
Hi, Have an Area 51r2 with the 850watt psu and want to swap out the GTX780 to hopefully a GTX980ti. Has anyone upgraded and know which cards are recommended with an Alienware system. Thanks

What brands though as I cannot find anywhere that sells an oem nVidia GTX980ti. Reference cards appear to be from PNY, EVGA and Zotac etc.

I know I can order it from the US but I'm based in the UK and you cannot order an OEM model from the uk NVidia site. They only link to branded models. Not really mad keen on getting a sensitive piece of electronic equipment where there would be that much transit. If it was faulty for any reason returning it would be a bit of a nightmare! Are the reference cards from the likes of PNY, EVGA etc not recommended?

Hi,
We cannot confirm if they will fully work since we have not tested them. We have only validated the NVidia GTX 980ti. You could also try posting this on the Notebook Review and Alienware Arena forums for assistance.
