HD 7850 really loud and overheating?

PC: X51

I bought an HD 7850 to upgrade my GTX 555 in hopes of achieving better performance but after carefully swapping out the cards and making sure no cables were in the way of the fans, I noticed that after about 5-10 mins of gaming the card gets really hot to around 80c-90c and the fans rev up to at least 80% and its loud like a jet turbine. Any comments on if this is normal or not??

the 7850 i bought is this one:

I'd like to add that it idles around 56c-60c which seems normal to me.

Hi kethnguy

Try to exchange that card and get a Reference cooling model since those card design work better on the x51

If you can get a gtx660Ti Reference cooling model ( they look same like the video card that came on your x51

Sheers & good luck and if need more help  ill be around

So, cool air in through the front (short) edge of the card, exhast air out the back (near video ports). Usually a single fan... right?
