Information for AMD/ATI Video hardware owners (mobility) and question

I'm interested in other people's experience.  I have spent seceral months in a running dialog with AMD about the lack of direct manufacturer support for their top-of-the-line hardware.  All of a sudden it seems that I can download the driver detection and it detects my hardware and downloads the appropriate drivers.  They can be installed over the current version and installs efficiently.  I did this with 12.1 and 12.2.  How about anyone else?

Hi C_ronic.  If you tried to download from the AMD support website it would inhibit the download if you were doing it from a laptop with awitchable graphics enabled (Alienware does).  So if you had no problems you either weren't downloading from the AMD website (mobility drivers) or you weren't downloading from a laptop with switchable graphics enabled.  It is built in to their softwsre to inhibit such downloads and installs.
