M17X-R4 Won't boot
My laptop has *** out on me. The lights and fan will turn on for about 4 seconds then shut down. I've tried removing the power sources and holding power to drain any reserve and same results. If I put just the adapter or just the battery it won't do anything but a subtle click sound. It requires both in order to do the 4 second boot. - Mike

Hi,
When you connect the AC adapter into the system, does the light on the adapter led turn off? Unfortunately, it sounds like a possible motherboard failure and it may need to be replaced.

Mine is the same and out of warranty, surely a premium laptop that is unmolested and unchanged should last longer than this!
Miner will not power up at all except if I drain the power and the fans and keyboard come on for a few seconds then gone!
Please help, I am desperate for my Alienware back
