Personalized nameplates killed on new systems?

I would really like to know why Dell continues to choose to kill all customization options on their Alienware systems... Having your name or personal tag on the bottom of your laptop isn't that big of a deal, but why get rid of it? It couldn't have possibly took too much effort to do the plates...
