Questions about how to fit GTX 980M on M17x R4
Hi everyone,
I have an Alienware m17x r4(Early 2012), running a GTX 675m graphics card and a i7-3820QM CUP. I would like to upgrade my graphics card to GTX 980m . I just want clarification if the size/socket of the GTX 980m would fit my m17x r4.

Yes it will fit.
But I suggest you do a bit of research before purchasing a $600+ GPU.
You will need to mod any NVidia driver you try to install as the GTX980M is not "Certified" by Dell for the M17xR4 - It a common issue and has been for years that Dell refuses to address. Everyone except Dell think they should be able to upgrade their Alienware GPU's whenever they feel like it :(
You will also need to research weather there is any known issues with a GTX980M in a M17xR4.
I know for certainty that there are issues with the M18xR2 and AW18 with GTX980M
