Realtek HD Audio Manager has stopped working.

Hi, i purchased and alienware m14x about 3 weeks ago, just had some one come over and replace the screen because of the mic issue and now i having another issue with the audio manager. the program is called Realtek HD Audio Manager. it starts up with the computer and seems to work fine until i attempt to plug a microphone in. i discovered this attempting to test a microphone for my brother. the program quits nearly immediately and refuses to come back up.

this is the message in the details section of the error, not sure if this is helpful.

checking online for a solution yields nothing.
When the application does stop working, all of the audio ports no longer work, and the sound plays through the speakers once again.
Now, this problem is not terrible because i do not frequently use an external mic, atleast not since the replaced the screen.
what i wondering is, when i turn on the computer, every time an error saying rundll.exe has stopped working.
i looked this up on the internet and attempted to follow their instructions on how to fix this but nothing has happened yet. i have run a virus scan and it
it came up clean. im going to attempt to run the windows repair disc and maybe this will fix everything at once, but i thought i may aswell ask here while im
doing that if my way doesn't turn out to fix it.
ps: the problem is fixed temporarily by restarting it, but if the manager closes, it will not reopen untill a restart.
