SSD Drives - Alienware R4

Hi Everyone,

I would like to upgrade my Desktop, with a SSD drive - hopefully making it the boot/OS drive for better performance.  I have been reviewing a lot of the posts on the forum, but have not seen anything that lists what SSD drives I can buy that are compatible/recommended.

If anyone could point me in the right direction, that would be great.

I will probably keep the RAID on the 2 drives currently installed  - but from what I understand, would need to move them in the PC as well (correct)?

Hello hutcha4113,

If you are going to use the SSD as a boot drive then you could consider removing the RAID as you may want to use them as storage drives and is not necessary to move them in the PC.

Also you will need to process a clean installation of the OS, follow our guide there is a video tutorial.

About the upgrade of the SSD, send us an email to alienwareupgrades@dell.com we can discuss that upgrade with you.
