Surround sound
I'm not able to get surround sound to work. I plug in a optical cable in the back of my Alienware Area 51 R2 and I get no sound no matter what setting I change in windows sound control panel or Sound Blaster control panel. Audio only works through HDMI on my Nvidia graphics card. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,
You should be able to set it from the playback devices in the taskbar. If it's not seen, the device isn't being recognized as connected.
Have you tried if this device works on a different machine?
Also, please try the rest of the audio connectors and let me know if you have the same issue or not.
