Trouble at upgrading RAM to 16 gb (4x4 gb) 1866 mhz on Aurora R3

Hello,

Willing to upgrade RAM on my 2011 Aurora R3 I've purchased 4 x 4 Go (16Go) 1866 MHZ - PC3-14900 because according to docs I've found about 046MHW motherbord told me 1866 mhz was supported and a max of 16 Go was ok.

I've recieved it today and the problem is that, when I look to my Bios it says my Dram frequency is 1600 Mhz and when I run CPU-Z to test it it appears to be only running at about 800 mhz.

Did I missed something ? How can I setup everything to have it running at 1866 mhz at it's expected to be ?

Thanks for you help.

I've just checked everything once again and it's still running at 1600 mhz,

Can someone help me please ?

Here's the user's guide :

According to page 63 there'd be no problem

Aurora R3 was notoriously sensitive to RAM configs on release.

Best way to get it working stable was to install EXACTLY matching dimms in ALL slots (full populate). Sounds like that is what you have done, so it works.

Just a suggestion, but you might consider stopping here and counting your blessings.

Hello,

First of all, happy new year an thanks for your answer.

Apparently the problem is now solved by doing following things :
- désactivation of xmp.
- modification of memory ratio in the bios.
- manual setup of 3 first parameters according to xmp informations

According to the following screen, everything works fine now :

The only thing that might make me think that there's still a problem, is the  "Max bandwidth" field on SPD tab ofcpu-z and Alien Autopsy memory test that detects  1600 Mhz RAM.
