Unable to instal GTX765M in Alienware 14

Hi Everyone,

Need help on my Alienware 14. I uninstall the NVIdia drivers in add/remove. after restart i tried to install the update version but it cannot continue because the graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware.

Currently it was using the Intel HD Graphics 4600. How can I get back the NVIDIA GTX765M?

I check on the bios and it show Graphics Discrete "Not Detected"

My laptop specs are:

Windows 8.1

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4710MQ CPU @ 2.50GHz

16GB Memory

WD10JPVX-75JC3T

LITEONIT DMT-80

Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600

at the back...

NVIDIA Geforce GTX 765M

Intel Core i7-4710MQ

Thanks in advance!!! God bless!!!

Please help. Thank you.

Hi Terryboy,

Update the BIOS from support.dell.com - http://dell.to/1Pwntme - enter the service tag and select drivers and downloads and run the BIOS update - restart and then try installing the video drivers again.

If the issue is not resolved - Could you send us a screenshot of the device manager with display adapters extended?

Have you tried any other step to resolve the issue? I would suggest you to try a system restore or Alienware Respawn.

Keep us updated.

Hello Rishi,

I have the same problem as thatgoon24 - display adapter doesn't show in device manager.

http://en.community.dell.com/owners-club/alienware/f/3746/t/19588664

I already tried reflashing the bios with the same firmware A09 (because its updated), but still after restart, the display adapter is not visible.

Currently, I cannot use system restore for I have many important documents I might loose everything...

Below is the screenshot of device manager...I tried viewing hidden files...

But display adapter "shows hidden" is the Intel Graphics only (notice the icon)...

I tried installing the Nvidia that I downloaded from Dell, (Video_Driver_390DM_WN_9.18.13.3165_A02) but it fails.

Hi Terryboy,

Thank you for the update.

Apologies for delay in response.

The reason the driver will not install is that the hardware itself is not being detected by the OS.
Could you send me the service tag and your contact details through a private conversation?
