Upgrading i7 3930K CPU on Aurora R4 ALX
Anyone have experience with upgrading this on this model ? I've already discovered that my options are limited on the existing mobo socket. Trying to get an idea how I could best go about doing this with as little headaches and cost as possible ?

That's a nice chip ... not worth messing with if you want to keep that motherboard.
There are some good threads on here about replacing stock motherboard.
And while this user had a slightly older machine, most of this applies to you as well. Good Luck.

Hi,
Just as an FYI, this are the validated CPUs for this model:
Processor type:
Intel® Core™ i7-3930K (3.2Ghz, Six Core, 12MB Cache)
Intel® Core™ i7-3960X (3.33Ghz, Six Core Extreme, 15MB Cache)

Should work. I have a 4930K installed, overclocked to 3.9Ghz and running stable for over a year.
