VERDE R285 DRIVER Install on ALIENWARE M17X R3

Hi, I have recently bought from dell.ca an ALIENWARE m17X R3 equipped with a NVIDIA GXT 460m Graphics card.

turns out the drivers are now outdated to V. 267.64 and I wish to Upgrade the drivers to the new 285.62. I tried to do this via the Nvidia Website as it should be but when I run the VERDE 285 DRIVER, compatible with the GTX 460m (found here: http://www.nvidia.fr/object/notebook-win7-winvista-64bit-285.62-whql-driver-fr.html) it fails to locate my hardware and automatically quits.

I have looked into the matter and have learned that the only way to get the update is supposingly trough the dell site because they won't allow Nvidia to do it on their own.

I have now downloaded the BIOS that dell provided on their website (located here: http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/ca/en/cadhs1/DriverDetails/DriverFileFormats?DriverId=R316513&FileId=2731121724) but I still can't download the 285.67 update, and I'm stuck with the old version that makes the graphics card crash all the time and so i cannot enjoy the new Battlefeild3 game that got out (the 285 patch was supposed to solve the crashing issues).

Where can I find an update that will work? if there is none will it be created?

Is there another way to download the update?

and if all else fails is there a way to bypass the ''exclusivity'' dell has imposed?

Please Reply ASAP, thanks.
