alpha r2 not recognizing m.2 ssd

Hi,

I have an alienware alpha R2 originally equipped wiht a 1TB HDD.

I purchased a M.2 SATA SSD to speed it up but it does not show up in the BIOS.

I flashed to the latest bios available to date (2.0.10 from Dec 22 2017).

I tried several BIOS settings (legacy mode/ UEFI) to no avail.

Any tips ?

Hi ericdewitte‌,

What's the SSDs brand and model. We recommend the PM 851 or 951 on that PC.

Also, check the functionality of the drive on another PC.

Hi Eimy,

The drive in question is : Crucial CT275MX300SSD4

It was supposed to be compatible based on information from them. I have returned it to vendor.

Are there any alternative to the PM851 / pm951 ?  These devices are not easy to get nowadays in my patch.

Can I consider a M.2 NVMe like samsung EVO 960 for example ?

Thank you for your feedback,

Eric.
